"NESTED IN HARMONY"
FARMHOUSE FOR DR. TONDON IN BARABANKI
2550 Square feet
The project which is a farmhouse for an elite doctor in Barabanki is proposed in his farmland away from the hustle bustle of the city. The Ground floor houses a multi-functional hall with necessary services aligned to it for moderate gathering. The first floor is a personalized space with a Terrace garden and private suites.
The idea is to harmonize this new construction with the existing natural landscape. The new footprint of the building overlaps with the crumbling old structure to minimize disturbance to the surrounding vegetation. The design molds itself around 2 existing trees with a height of more than 30 feet to conserve it and fuse it with the built-up rather than directly eliminating it.
The lower storey is all in white which not only makes it visible from far off but also lets the greens of the surrounding environment dominate it. Whereas the first floor follows a more rustic approach with exposed brick structures and a vaulted corridor. The idea was to use mud burnt bricks so its red can harmonize with the greens of Nature around it and can smuggle itself into the existing landscape.
